When removing extremely seized glow plugs, it is common for the top nut to shear off, leaving the main body – often with the centre electrode – flush with the cylinder head. This tool set enables the user to remove the central electrode, drill and extract the main body of the glow plug, and clean or, if necessary, replace the thread in the cylinder head.
Working steps:
Remove the central electrode
Drill out the glow plug main body
Extract the remaining glow plug parts
Clean the glow plug hole with brushes
Recut the fastening thread in the cylinder head
Clean the sealing seat with a reamer
Renew the fastening thread if required
