This specialist drill guide set is designed for situations where the injector clamp bolt has seized into the cylinder head and risks breaking under additional torque. The guide fits securely over the head of the bolt, enabling accurate drilling to remove the bolt head and expose the shank. This allows the technician to remove both the injector clamp and the injector without damaging surrounding components.
Once the shank is accessible, the supplied die and holder are used to cut a new thread directly into the remaining bolt shank, effectively converting it into a threaded stud. The injector clamp can then be reinstalled using one of the four special M8 clamping nuts provided (also available separately). This approach significantly reduces repair time compared to conventional broken bolt removal methods and eliminates the need to remove the cylinder head.
